According to the letter of the law, it was actually a correct decision.
However, the law was written quite a long time ago, and is hardly relevant in today's footy.
A lot of people I know are Collingwood supporters j0nni....so I take great pleasure in reminding them where they are on the ladder (even if we - Hawthorn - are only one spot above them)
